BERNARDO ATXAGA
In conversation with ROBERTO MOSO
Sala BBK
After a life devoted to literature, Bernardo Atxaga’s latest works reveal an inclination towards humour which, according to the author, was always present in his children’s books, but which he could not fully unleash in the rest of his work until the end of ETA. A great reader and admirer of writers such as Joyce, Kafka and Goethe, Atxaga claims to be inspired by the latter when he says that we should tend towards greater luminosity as we age. He will talk to journalist Roberto Moso about this luminous space where he claims to have found his place today, in a review of the career of the Basque author who in 2019 was awarded the Premio Nacional de las Letras Españolas for his “fundamental contribution to the modernisation and international projection of the Basque and Spanish languages”.
