This is a new issue of this festival’s regular section, featuring a guest who chooses their ten favourite comedy sequences and discusses them with Juan Bas as they are being screened. A revamped Sunday afternoon film session, with its blend of laughter that must be experienced in real life, in every sense of the word, as it will not be streamed or uploaded to YouTube. The main character of this edition is Manuel Gutiérrez Aragón, director of films such as ‘Camada negra’ (1977), ‘Demonios en el jardín’ (1982) or ‘La mitad del cielo’ (1986). After retiring from cinema after his last film, ‘Todos estamos invitados’ (2008), he has written several novels, a short story book, and another about cinema. His memoirs, ‘Vida y maravillas’ (Life and Wonders), have just been published by Anagrama.
