He has worked for publishers including Anagrama, Plaza &amp; Jan\u00e9s, Planeta and Alfaguara, and was editor of the magazine El Europeo and one of the founders of the literary supplement Babelia. As a translator, he has translated into Spanish works by authors including Vladimir Nabokov, Truman Capote and Martin Amis. As an editor, he was also responsible for the publication in Spain of A Confederacy of Dunces, by John Kennedy Toole. He is the author of the novels El centro del mundo and Qu\u00e9 nos pasa, the short-story collection El secreto del arte and, most recently, the memoir Personaje secundario.
