(Madrid, 1955) is a film director, screenwriter, producer and writer. He made his film debut with \u00d3pera prima and has directed films including El a\u00f1o de las luces, Belle \u00c9poque \u2014winner of the Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film\u2014, La ni\u00f1a de tus ojos, Calle 54, Chico & Rita and Memories of My Father. He has also worked as a music producer and published books on film and music. In 2015, he received the Spanish National Cinematography Award and the BBK Ja! Award.<\/p>\n
