The publishing house Libros del Asteroide has published his latest books in Spain and republished some of his earlier novels. His latest novels are \u2018Monasterio\u2018, \u2018Signor Hoffman\u2019, \u2018Duelo\u2019, \u2018Biblioteca bizarra\u2019 and \u2018Canci\u00f3n\u2018; and the most recent, \u2018Un hijo cualquiera\u2018. His work has been translated into several languages. In 2011 he obtained a Guggenheim Fellowship, and in 2015 he was awarded the prestigious Roger Caillois Prize for Latin American Literature in France. His novel \u2018Duelo\u2019 was awarded the Prix du Meilleur Livre \u00c9tranger (France), the International Latino Book Award (USA) and the Edward Lewis Wallis Award (USA) and the Edward Lewis Wallant Award (USA). In 2018 he was awarded the Premio Nacional de Literatura de Guatemala, the most prestigious literary prize in his native Guatemala.
