He has published, among other books, the short story volumes \u2018P\u00e1ginas ocultas de la historia\u2019 (1999), written with Fernando Mar\u00edas, and \u2018La taberna de los 3 monos\u2019 (2000). The novels \u2018Alacranes en su tinta\u2019 (2002), \u2018La cuenta atr\u00e1s\u2019 (2004), \u2018Voracidad\u2019 (2006, Euskadi Literature Prize), \u2018Ostras para Dimitri\u2019 (2012), \u2018El refugio de los canallas\u2019 (Alrev\u00e9s, 2017; Dashiel Hammett Prize 2018) and \u2018Una cuesti\u00f3n de alcohol\u2019 (Alrev\u00e9s, 2021). His work has been translated into French, German, Italian, Russian, Bulgarian, Norwegian and Basque. He is an opinion columnist for El Correo. In 2010 he devised the Ja! festival, which he currently serves as an advisor.
