A prolific author, she has published more than fifty novels and has a varied production of stories and essays. Some of her most outstanding books are\u00a0<em>The Gravedigger\u00b4s Daughter; Little Bird of Heaven; A Widow\u2019s Story: A Memoir; Blonde;<\/em>\u00a0<em>Carthage;<\/em>\u00a0<em>Faithless: Tales of Transgression,\u00a0<\/em>and\u00a0<em>Lovely, Dark, Deep: Stories,\u00a0<\/em>all published in Spain by Alfaguara<em>.\u00a0<\/em>A strong contender for the Nobel Prize for years now, she divides her time between writing and the courses she teaches at the University of Princeton, in New Jersey.
