He began his career writing for the comedy programmes Vaya Semanita, El Intermedio and La noche de Jos\u00e9 Mota. In 2009 he ventured into cinema for the first time with Borja Cobeaga, with whom he wrote \u2018Pagafantas\u2019 and, later, \u2018No Controles\u2019 (2011), \u2018Ocho apellidos vascos\u2019 (2014), the box-office hit comedy in the history of Spanish cinema, and its sequel, \u2018Ocho apellidos catalanes\u2019 (2015); as well as \u2018Fe de etarras\u2019 (2017). Also in cinema, he has participated in the screenplays of \u2018Tenemos que hablar\u2019 (2016) and \u2018S\u00faperlopez\u2019 (2018), a film he was nominated for a Goya for Best Adapted Screenplay. His latest outstanding work is the series \u2018Vota Juan\u2019 (2019), and its sequels: \u2018Vamos Juan\u2019 (2020) and \u2018Venga Juan\u2019 (2021), also directed by him.
