She was a tenured professor of literature at Lehigh University (Pennsylvania) until 2015. In 2016 she published in Galaxia Gutenberg El eco de los disparos: Cultura y memoria de la violencia, an essay that vindicates culture as a tool for settling the past of violence in the Basque Country. In September 2017, Galaxia Gutenberg published his first novel Mejor la ausencia, an investigation into the post-industrial Euskadi of the 1980s. Together with Jos\u00e9 Ovejero, he made the documentary Vida y ficci\u00f3n (2017).
