She left home at the age of sixteen in order to study at Oxford and experience her first love affair with a girl. At the age of twenty-four she enjoyed great success with the publication of \u201cOranges are Not the Only Fruit\u201d, which was followed by, among others, \u201cThe Passion\u201d, \u201cSexing the Cherry\u201d<em>,\u00a0<\/em>\u201cWritten on the body\u201d and \u201cLighthousekeeping\u201d, the novel with which\u00a0<strong>Lumen<\/strong>\u00a0began its library devoted to the most notable works by the author.
