He has received several awards for his professional career, including the National Design Award, the Gold Medal for Merit in the Fine Arts and the insignia of Chevalier de l\u2019Ordre des Arts et des Lettres. In 1994 he emerged as an author of essays with \u2018M\u00e1s que discutible\u2019 and is the author of books such as \u2018Anna, Dal\u00ed y otros amigos\u2019, \u2018R\u00e9quiem por la escalera\u2019 and \u2018Pasando a limpio\u2019, and of \u2018Tiempos que fueron\u2019, a childhood memoir written in conjunction with his sister Esther Tusquets.
