After studying Arabic and Persian and spending long periods in the Middle East, he decided to settle in Barcelona in 2000. While there, he has been active in several cultural magazines, including the now extinct Lateral, and has taught Arabic at the Autonomous University of Barcelona. Enard is the author of novels such as \u2018El manual del perfecto terrorista\u2019 (La Otra Orilla, 2007) and \u2018Zona\u2019 (La Otra Orilla, 2008), and already in Literatura Random House, \u2018Habladles de batallas, de reyes y elefantes, \u2018El alcohol y la nostalgia\u2019, \u2018Calle de los Ladrones\u2019 and \u2018Br\u00fajula\u2019, winner of the 2015 Goncourt Prize.
