His first novel, \u2018A bordo del naufragio\u2019 (Anagrama, 1998), was shortlisted for the Herralde Prize. He has subsequently published eight novels, including \u2018Trenes hacia Tokio\u2019, \u2018Tatami\u2019, \u2018Ej\u00e9rcito enemigo\u2019, \u2018Alabanza\u2019 and \u2018Irene y el aire\u2019. He is also the author of the short story collection \u2018Guardar las formas\u2019 (Random House) and the essay \u2018Vidas baratas: elogio de lo cutre\u2018 (HarperCollins). He has been awarded the Ojo Cr\u00edtico RNE prize for narrative and was a runner-up for the Ribera de Duero short story prize. In 2020 he was awarded the 1st David Gistau Journalism Prize. \u2018Cuando el Vips era la mejor librer\u00eda de la ciudad\u2018 (C\u00edrculo de Tiza) is a collection of his best articles published in El Confidencial.
