He has published, among other novels, <em>Eclipse<\/em> (2002), <em>Shroud<\/em> (2005), <em>The Infinites<\/em> (2010) (all three published by Anagrama), <em>The Book of Evidence<\/em> (Alfaguara, 2014), part of the <em>Freddie Montgomery Trilogy<\/em> (Alfaguara, 2020) along with <em>Ghosts<\/em> y <em>Athena<\/em>, and was a runner-up for the Booker Prize, awarded in 2005 for his novel <em>The Sea<\/em>, which also won the Irish Book Award for best novel of the year. Other highlights include <em>The Untouchable<\/em> (2015), the <em>Cleave Trilogy<\/em>, <em>The Blue Guitar<\/em> (2016), <em>Mrs Osmond<\/em> (2018) and <em>Scientific Tetralogy<\/em> (2022), which brings together in a single volume the novels <em>Copernicus<\/em> (winner of the James Tait Black Memorial Prize), <em>Kepler<\/em>, (<em>The Guardian<\/em> Fiction Prize), <em>The Newton Letter<\/em> and <em>Mefisto<\/em>. His novels have been published by Alfaguara under the pen name Benjamin Black, which he uses in his Spanish editions of crime novels, including <em>The Lemur<\/em> (2009), the series starring <em>Dr. Quirke<\/em>, <em>The Black-eyed Blonde<\/em> (2014) and <em>Prague Nights<\/em> (2019).
