Albert Monteys

(Barcelona, 1971) is a comic-book artist and illustrator. After publishing the comics Mondo Lirondo, with La Peñya, and Calavera lunar, as a solo artist, he joined El Jueves, where he drew weekly until 2014. That same year, he began publishing Univers!, a science-fiction series whose first volume, collected by Astiberri, won the Best Work by a Spanish Author award at the 2019 Barcelona Comic Fair and was nominated for an Eisner Award in 2017 for Best Digital Comic. His more recent work includes a special 25th-anniversary edition of Calavera Lunar and his adaptation of Slaughterhouse-Five, by Kurt Vonnegut, with a script by Ryan North (Astiberri, 2020). In October 2026, Astiberri will publish his adaptation of LA Confederacy of Dunces, by John Kennedy Toole.
