Friday 16 October
18:30
Aliens, time travel, impossible creatures, unsettling dystopias… Drawing on different literary traditions, Anna Starobinets and Elia Barceló have found in speculative fiction a space for creative freedom from which to question identity, the body and the boundaries of what it means to be human.
They will explore the ever-blurring boundaries between science fiction, horror and fantasy, and discuss how these genres can broaden our understanding of the world, taking us from strangeness and paradox towards those things that reality itself cannot explain. English with simultaneous interpretation into Spanish.
Admission: €3. Book signing.
Ja! Festival Friends: free admission with prior reservation.
