Science and Fiction: The Art of the Possible

Guggenheim Museum Bilbao · Auditorium

Entradas: Book »

Described by Ray Bradbury as “the art of the possible”, science fiction is more than a way of imagining the future. From Jules Verne to the Apollo programme, from Black Mirror to the revolution in artificial intelligence, the genre has stretched the boundaries of reality, imagining alternative futures that have anticipated — with remarkable insight — technologies, scenarios and challenges that are now part of our present.

Astronaut Sara García Alonso, neuroscientist Mariano Sigman and writer Laura Fernández will discuss the ways in which science and fiction continually feed into one another, as well as the role of imagination as a driving force behind knowledge and artistic creation.

Admission: €3. Book signing.
Ja! Festival Friends: free admission with prior reservation.
