Laura Fernández
(Terrassa, 1981) She is the author of six novels: ‘Bienvenidos a Welcome’ (Elipsis, 2008/Literatura Random House, 2019), ‘Wendolin Kramer’ (Seix Barral, 2011), ‘La Chica Zombie’ (Seix Barral, 2013), ‘El Show de Grossman’ (Aristas Martínez, 2013), ‘Connerland‘ (Literatura Random House, 2017) and ‘La señora Potter no es exactamente Santa Claus‘ (Literatura Random House, 2021), winner of the El Ojo Crítico de Narrativa 2021 prize. Her stories, it has been said, “have the punch of a Douglas Adams who had over-read Stella Gibbons or Evelyn Waugh, and the ambition to create a complex world like a Thomas Pynchon fan of Stephen King”. Laura Fernández is also a journalist and literary and music critic; in recent years, she has written mainly for El País. She has two children and a stack of Philip K. Dick books.
