Enrique Murillo

(Barcelona, 1944) is an editor, translator, journalist and writer. He has worked for publishers including Anagrama, Plaza & Janés, Planeta and Alfaguara, and was editor of the magazine El Europeo and one of the founders of the literary supplement Babelia. As a translator, he has translated into Spanish works by authors including Vladimir Nabokov, Truman Capote and Martin Amis. As an editor, he was also responsible for the publication in Spain of A Confederacy of Dunces, by John Kennedy Toole. He is the author of the novels El centro del mundo and Qué nos pasa, the short-story collection El secreto del arte and, most recently, the memoir Personaje secundario. La oscura trastienda de la edición (2025), in which he looks back on more than five decades devoted to the publishing world.
