Gustavo Martín Garzo

(Valladolid, 1948) He has published more than fifteen books, covering narrative and essay writing as well as literature for young people. His work is rich in references to legends, traditional tales, and mythological and biblical themes. The feminine realm also inspires his work. His books include ‘El lenguaje de las fuentes’ (1993, National Narrative Prize), ‘Marea oculta’ (1993, Miguel Delibes Prize), ‘Las historias de Marta y Fernando’ (1993, Nadal Prize); ‘Tres cuentos de hadas’ (2004, National Children’s and Young People’s Literature Prize); ‘El jardín dorado’ (2008, Castilla y León Literature Prize), and ‘Sesión continua’ (2010, Vargas Llosa Short Story Prize). His most recent novels are ‘La ofrenda’ (2018) and ‘El último atardecer’ (2023), both published by Galaxia Gutenberg.
