Juan Arnau

(Valencia, 1968). Astrophysicist, philosopher and essayist specialising in Eastern philosophies and religions. His extensive work features La fuga de dios, Historia de la imaginación, Manual de filosofía portátil (Valencian Critics’ Prize and runner-up for the National Essay Prize), La mente diáfana. Historia del pensamiento indio and En la mente del mundo. “La aventura del deseo y la percepción”. He has translated the main works of Buddhism and Hinduism from Sanskrit. He has written the essays “Antropología del buddismo“ and “Cosmologías de India“. He believes in promoting humanism even in the midst of overwhelming technological distractions. He is a regular contributor to the daily “El País“.
