Rosa Montero

Rosa Montero

(Madrid, 1951) is a writer and journalist who has spent much of her career associated with the newspaper El País. She is the author of novels including La hija del caníbal (Primavera de Novela Prize) and El peligro de estar cuerda. Her relationship with science fiction began with Tears in Rain (2011), the first novel in the series featuring replicant detective Bruna Husky, followed by Weight of the Heart and Los tiempos del odio. In 2025, she published Animales difíciles, the fourth book in the series. She has also published books of journalism and essays, including La ridícula idea de no volver a verte. In 2017, she received the Spanish National Literature Award, and in 2022 the Gold Medal for Merit in the Fine Arts. Her latest novel is Un día en la vida de Clarita (2026).
