El museo que nunca duerme
New York was the birthplace and focal point of the artistic movements that marked the second half of the 20th century: abstract expressionism, pop art, minimalism, conceptual art, street art. The city has managed to maintain the artistic centrality it has enjoyed since then and has overcome the crisis of the 1970s, the 9/11 attacks, the Great Recession and the pandemic.
Miren Arzalluz, director of the Guggenheim Museum Bilbao, and Miguel Zugaza, director of the Museum of Fine Arts, will discuss the keys to the strong artistic magnetism of a city that is a museum in itself, as well as the impact that political and cultural changes driven by the Trump administration in the United States or the growing process of deglobalisation, which calls into question the very existence of global centres of power and influence, may have on it. Talk curated by Rafael Orbegozo, head of Iberdrola’s art collection, and moderated by journalist César Coca.
Free entry until full capacity.
