Since its extraordinary posthumous publication in 1980, The Confederacy of Dunces has become a classic of comic literature. Albert Monteys’s recent graphic adaptation offers a fresh take on the unforgettable world of Ignatius J. Reilly — one that a festival like ours could hardly fail to celebrate.
Monteys will be in conversation with Enrique Murillo, author of the foreword to the Astiberri edition and a key figure in bringing the novel to Anagrama, where it was first published in Spanish. They will be joined by Iggy Rubín, one of the novel’s most enthusiastic readers, to discuss a work whose ability to make us laugh and think remains as powerful as ever.
Admission: €3. Book signing.
Ja! Festival Friends: free admission with prior reservation.
