Alberto Olmos
(Segovia, 1975) He is a writer and journalist. His first novel, ‘A bordo del naufragio’ (Anagrama, 1998), was shortlisted for the Herralde Prize. He has subsequently published eight novels, including ‘Trenes hacia Tokio’, ‘Tatami’, ‘Ejército enemigo’, ‘Alabanza’ and ‘Irene y el aire’. He is also the author of the short story collection ‘Guardar las formas’ (Random House) and the essay ‘Vidas baratas: elogio de lo cutre‘ (HarperCollins). He has been awarded the Ojo Crítico RNE prize for narrative and was a runner-up for the Ribera de Duero short story prize. In 2020 he was awarded the 1st David Gistau Journalism Prize. ‘Cuando el Vips era la mejor librería de la ciudad‘ (Círculo de Tiza) is a collection of his best articles published in El Confidencial. He currently writes for The Objective.
