
Kirmen Uribe
(Ondarroa, Bizkaia, 1970). Writer and poet in Basque and Spanish. In 2009, he received the National Narrative Award for his novel Bilbao–New York-Bilbao. His second novel was Mussche (in Basque), also published by Seix Barral as Lo que mueve el mundo (What Moves the World). He also wrote Elkarrekin esnatzeko ordua (The Time to Wake Up Together). He has written screenplays, children’s and young adult literature, and is the author of an extensive body of poetry. His work has been translated into twenty languages. His poem “Maiatza” (“May”) was published in The New Yorker. He teaches creative writing at New York University, where he lives. His most recent novel is “La vida anterior de los delfines” (“The Previous Life of Dolphins”).
