Manuel Fontán

(Jerez de la Frontera, Cádiz, 1963). Doctor of Philosophy. Author of essays on aesthetics and art theory, philosophy of culture, and modern and contemporary artists. He has also co-directed documentaries on the visual arts. Between 1995 and 2005, he was director of the Cervantes Institute in Bremen, Lisbon, and Naples. Since 2006, he has been director of Museums and Exhibitions at the Juan March Foundation, director of the Spanish Abstract Art Museum (Cuenca) and the Juan March Foundation Museum (Palma). He has directed and curated more than a hundred exhibitions.
