Mónica Crespo

Bergara, Gipuzkoa, 1974). Writer and creative-writing teacher. She is a tutor at UNED (National University of Distance Education) and regularly collaborates in the organisation and facilitation of literary events. She was a finalist for the 15th Setenil Award for Best Short-Story Collection Published in Spain and the 40th Tigre Juan Prize for her book ‘Las madres secretas’ (Base, 2017), also published in Argentina (Dualidad, Buenos Aires, 2022). Her short stories have been translated into English and Portuguese and published in literary journals including Ploughshares (Boston), Exile Quarterly (Canada), Massachusetts Review (Massachusetts) and Versalete (Federal University of Paraná, Brazil). She has contributed to several anthologies, including ‘Madres que cuentan. Conversaciones con 16 autoras sobre escritura y maternidad’ (Ediciones La Tormenta, 2024).
