Jonathan Coe
(Birmingham, 1961) He studied at Trinity College, Cambridge, and obtained a PhD in English Literature from the University of Warwick, where he worked as a lecturer. The author of several novels – often related to politics, often with biting criticism and satire – he has published the titles ‘What a carve up! ‘, ‘The Rotters Club’ (“the most vibrant of the novels about the greyest years” for Rodrigo Fresán), ‘The Closed Circle’, ‘The Rain Before It Falls’, ‘The Terrible Privacy of Maxwell Sim’, ‘Number 11’, ‘Expo 58’ (“the novel Graham Greene would have written if he had read more of a powerfully nostalgic Evelyn Waugh” for Laura Fernández), ‘Middle England‘ and, more recently, ‘Mr Wilder and Me‘. All of them
have been published in Spain by Anagrama.
