Leonora Carrington’s artistic and literary oeuvre combines imagination, magic and a sense of humour that probably saved her from the madness to which she seemed destined. As familiar to surrealist milieus as she was reluctant to act as a muse for them, Carrington was a forerunner of feminism. She embraced ecology, connecting it with women in a magical, primaeval realm.

Writers Menchu Gutiérrez and Javier Montes have a profound knowledge of the singularity of this artist’s work who also has a fascinating personality and will tell us a great deal about this.
