Eduardo Halfon

(Guatemala, 1971) He has published more than a dozen novels, including ‘El ángel literario’, ‘Clases de hebreo’, ‘Clases de dibujo’, ‘El boxeador polaco’ and ‘Mañana nunca lo hablamos’. The publishing house Libros del Asteroide has published his latest books in Spain and republished some of his earlier novels. His latest novels are ‘Monasterio‘, ‘Signor Hoffman’, ‘Duelo’, ‘Biblioteca bizarra’ and ‘Canción‘; and the most recent, ‘Un hijo cualquiera‘. His work has been translated into several languages. In 2011 he obtained a Guggenheim Fellowship, and in 2015 he was awarded the prestigious Roger Caillois Prize for Latin American Literature in France. His novel ‘Duelo’ was awarded the Prix du Meilleur Livre Étranger (France), the International Latino Book Award (USA) and the Edward Lewis Wallis Award (USA) and the Edward Lewis Wallant Award (USA). In 2018 he was awarded the Premio Nacional de Literatura de Guatemala, the most prestigious literary prize in his native Guatemala. He currently lives in Germany.
