Fernando Marías

(Bilbao, 1958, Madrid, 2022). Author, scriptwriter, promoter of cultural events and literary editor. His books feature: La luz prodigiosa (1990, adapted for the cinema by Miguel Hermoso), Esta noche moriré (1992), Páginas ocultas de la historia (1999, written with Juan Bas, as well as the TVE series), El Niño de los coroneles (2001, Nadal Award), La mujer de las alas grises (2003), Invasor (2004,, adapted for the cinema by Daniel Calparsoro), Cielo abajo (2005, National Award for Children’s and Young People’s Literature), El mundo se acaba todos los días (2005, Ateneo de Sevilla Award), Todo el amor y casi toda la muerte (2010, Primavera Award), La isla del padre (2015, Biblioteca Breve Award). His latest novel was Arde este libro (2021). His juvenile novel El silencio se mueve (SM, 2010), is the literary basis for the graphic exhibition illustrated by Javier Olivares and Fernando Marías El enigma Pertierra, that Ja! Festival has produced in 2023.
