Born in Murcia and a law graduate, Rosa Belmonte was a lawyer before becoming a newspaper writer. She combined defending rapists with the keyboard until she was drawn to seeing things and writing about them. With humour. Watching television and telling about it (more of a chronicle than a critique), watching politicians and reporting on them, observing life and narrating it. Always linked to the Vocento group, she writes columns without frills, “with no other aim than to make a joke into a miniature revolution, as Orwell would say”. She is a columnist on Carlos Alsina’s programme ‘Más de uno’, on Onda Cero, analysing the current affairs of celebrity magazines with Josemi Rodríguez Sieiro, and is a member of La Cultureta. She also participates in the programmes ‘La mañana de Federico’ and ‘En casa de Herrero’ on esRadio, as well as in her publishing house Libertad Digital, and José Luis Garci’s programme Classics (Trece TV). She is the author of the book ‘Sobre nosotras. Sobre nada‘ (La esfera de los libros, 2021), co-written with Emilia Landaluce.
